Brain training is for everyone. Cognition is the mental functions that our brains perform every day. It is the process of sensory information interacting with various areas of the brain that have networked to allow for speedy storage, retrieval, and reasoning. We would not recognize each other, objects, sounds, smells or touch sensations if these networks did not exist. Furthermore, we could not navigate our way, manipulate objects such as a fork, brush, or key, or solve everyday problems in our life. Some aspects of cognition that you do not use frequently will slow down and the networks can even die off. Illness, stress, environment, nutrition, sleep, and exercise also effect cognition just as these factors can impact our physical health. Thankfully, these variables are modifiable and can bring positive outcomes as well.
